William Buster

William Buster is a finance and operations leader who has spent his career helping organizations create clarity, build stronger systems, and make better decisions. He has led finance, business operations, strategic planning, reporting, fundraising support, and cross-functional initiatives across mission-driven and high-growth organizations, with experience spanning climate technology, financial services, and early-stage companies.

William was drawn to HPP because of its deep commitment to helping families find stability, dignity, and long-term opportunity. As a parent, he believes strongly in the importance of surrounding families with practical support during moments of transition. He brings to the Board experience in financial planning, operating infrastructure, team leadership, housing and real estate analysis, and translating complex organizational challenges into clear, actionable plans. He is especially interested in how strong governance, thoughtful financial stewardship, and human-centered operations can help HPP continue expanding its impact.

William lives in the Bay Area with his two children. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening, scuba diving, and spending time outdoors.
