Arpana Vidyarthi

Arpana Vidyarthi has spent her career lifting people. As Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), she cares for patients in the hospital while teaching and mentoring medical students and trainees. And through ARVAssociates Consulting and Coaching, she works with organizations (nonprofit, healthcare, corporations, and schools) and individuals to help them navigate transitions. Arpana has been a friend to HPP for 20 years and has been on the board for 5 years. She is passionate about HPP’s mission and believes deeply in the power of families. She is also on the Board of Advisors of the Healing WELL that focuses on wellness in the Tenderloin Community, and was previously on the boards of the Drew School and the Singapore American School 

Arpana attended Macalester College, where she studied Ethnic Relations. She graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed her residency at Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School, and fellowship in Hospital Medicine and Clinical Research at UCSF.  She holds an Executive Master’s in Change from INSEAD. Arpana, with her husband Rajiv and daughters Anaiya and Nika, enjoys travel, tennis, scuba diving and everything in SF.
