For the 2011 tax year, HPP helped over 980 families obtain refunds totaling more than $1.6 million dollars, an average of $1,635 per family. Since June 2009, 57 staff participated in our initial financial education classes in order to fine-tune the free classes for clients.
HPP provides families with tools to learn how to manage their finances and access public and private resources. Services include:
- An eight-hour Financial Education Curriculum, educating clients in the basics of banking, saving, budgeting, credit building, credit reports, responsible credit use, and loans and home ownership.
- Free tax preparation through our Low Income Tax Clinic.
