• 2003 Honored Partner and Friend of the Department of Health Education at the College of Health and Human Services. San Francisco State University.


• 2002 Executive Director Martha Ryan was honored with one of four San Francisco Foundation Community Leadership Awards.


• 2005 In May 2001, the Ford Foundation notified Executive Director Martha Ryan that she had been one of 55 semi-finalists (from an original pool of over 3,000 nominees nationally) for the Leadership for a Changing World Award through the Ford Foundation.


• In April 2001 the HPP received a Special Recognition award as part of the Mead2001 Awards for work reflecting Margaret Mead's famous quote, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.


• In December 2000, HPP's Board of Directors received "The Lighthouse Award" for excellence in nonprofit management from The Management Center.
