HPP is pleased to announce that we exceeded our CHW Challenge fundraising goal!
The CHW Challenge, made possible by the generosity of two anonymous donors, doubled all 2014 Annual Appeal donations up to $200k. Funds support The Community Health Worker (CHW) Training Program, a job training program that prepares economically disadvantaged women for meaningful careers in the community.
For all those who donated, spread the word and volunteered their time, thank you for your commitment to nourishing strong families and healthy communities. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Thanks to you, 10 women will receive the opportunity of a lifetime and in turn change the lives of 3,500+ families every year.
The CHW Training Program has been an integral part of HPP since the agency’s founding in 1989. The CHW program is life-changing for participants, providing careers that are financially self-sustaining and professionally rewarding. Since 1995, 180 women have participated in the CHW program. Of those participating, 150 (83%) have graduated and 136 (90%) found jobs within 30 days.
