______________________________________________Dear Friends,
Due to current public health concerns related to COVID-19, HPP is reworking its service delivery to ensure the safety of both families and staff. HPP recognizes that this health crisis will further impact families that may already be struggling, and therefore remains committed to continuing limited, essential services (remote case management, restricted drop-in services and decreased onsite staff).
Please note that while we are working to understand the implications of the pandemic in our lives, this crisis will be especially difficult for HPP’s families. Already, working families have seen cut hours and lay-offs that will affect their ability to pay rent. Health uncertainty has homeless families questioning whether to enter to the heavily-populated shelter system or stay outside. And all our families are in need of more food, more diapers and more support. HPP is also bracing for the stark reality that once the immediate health risks have been minimized, we will find more families in a worse position than they were even few weeks ago. Please know that HPP is committed to being there for our families both now and after the crisis has calmed; to ensuring that families have enough food today and that they can make rent next month.
As you build your pantries and emergency kits, please consider helping us build ours in this time of widespread need. HPP is stocking up on emergency food bags, drug store gift cards, diapers and other items for families. Though HPP would ordinarily be grateful for shipped items, please know a monetary gift will be easier for the agency to manage at this time.
Many thanks to HPP’s incredible staff for remaining committed to ensuring the health and stability of our community – and to you. We couldn’t manage this crisis with such ease and confidence without such a generous and thoughtful community of support!
Thank you,

Martha Ryan
Founder & Executive Director
PS – Over the next few weeks we will only be accepting in-kind donations of formula and diapers. We look forward to accepting more items in coming months.
