Community Technology Worker Intern

The Homeless Prenatal Program is proud to announce an opening for a Community Technology Worker (CTW) beginning in March 2008 and continuing for one year. The CTW Program is a paid internship that trains individuals to assist low-income and immigrant community members to use computers for job, housing and educational needs.

With hands-on training in lab maintenance and desktop publishing, the CTW will have skills to work as a receptionist, computer instructor, or pursue further education. The CTW will be encouraged to take specialized workshops to build other relevant community technology skills.

The ideal applicant will have English proficiency (reading, writing, spoken), experience using a computer, and history working with people of diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Preferably, the applicant will have experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, email and simple Internet searches, although training will be provided. Spanish bilinguals are encouraged to apply.
